Capoeira is a game you play. To get better at the game, you have to train, and play, a lot. That’s where ADB comes in. In our classes we train hard, and play everyday. Classes start with a warm up and stretch, conditioning drills, and then instruction of basic techniques. After that we usually do partner exercises, movements up and down the floor, and/or stations. We regularly practice the music of capoeira, including with percussion instruments that we have at our studio. Usually at the end of class we make a roda, where we put it all together and play the game of capoeira.

Our children’s capoeira classes combine martial arts, music, dance, and gymnastics, all in one place. With a mix of fun activities, positive encouragement, and firm expectations, our instructors create an environment that is both challenging and supporting. Kids in our classes have a blast while learning new skills, staying fit, and building self-confidence.
